Note: Not every horse in our For Sale section has a Rider Level listed. This is a work in progress.
Beginner – A total beginner rider. Has never been on a horse before except for maybe one of those vacation stable rides. This rider would need a horse that almost never spooks, a horse that has seen it all. (Keep in mind that we cannot guarantee that a horse will NEVER spook.)
Beginner Plus –The horse for a Beginner Plus rider is very calm-natured and gentle but has a bit more energy than the Beginner horse. This is NOT a run away with you or nervous energy. (An example might be a young horse with an exceptionally calm nature. He/she has energy but doesn’t misuse it.)
Novice – A novice rider has ridden before and has some general riding knowledge, maybe has taken some lessons. This person should know how to use the reins to make turns, back up, stop, etc. Would know how to react should a horse spook.
Intermediate – This rider has quite a bit of experience and can handle a horse with a bigger motor. Is ready for a horse that responds quickly to commands. (There are a lot of nice, gentle horses that just react too quickly for the lower level riders.)
Experienced – This rider can handle anything.
